Almond Hot Chocolate with Cranberry Meringue Shards

A warm and cozy drink combining rich dark chocolate with nutty almond, topped with crispy cranberry meringue shards.

  • 1 liter sweetened fortified almond beverage
  • 115 g dark chocolate (56 percent), chopped
  • 45 ml almond butter
  • 15 ml cocoa
  • 125 ml 35 percent cream
  • 10 ml sugar
  • Cranberry meringue, roughly crumbled

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the almond beverage, chopped dark chocolate, almond butter, and cocoa.
  2. Heat over medium heat and bring to a boil, whisking constantly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk the cream and sugar until soft peaks form.
  4. Pour hot chocolate into mugs, top with whipped cream, and sprinkle with cranberry meringue shards.
  5. Sip and enjoy the delightful flavors!

Notes

For a spiced version, add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg. Can be made ahead and stored in the fridge.
