Baked Teriyaki Chicken Drumsticks

Juicy baked chicken drumsticks coated in a flavorful teriyaki sauce, perfect for busy weeknights or gatherings.

  • 8 bone-in, skin-on chicken drumsticks
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup water
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 13 teaspoons Sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (mixed with 1 tablespoon water)
  • Sliced green onions
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F.
  2. Spray a 9×13-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. Arrange the chicken drumsticks in the baking dish, skin side down.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, water, brown sugar, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, and Sriracha. Whisk until well mixed.
  5. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the drumsticks, ensuring they are coated.
  6. Bake the chicken for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  7. Remove the chicken from the oven and set aside.
  8. Transfer the remaining sauce to a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  9. Stir the cornstarch mixture before adding it to the simmering sauce. Stir well.
  10. Once thickened, brush the sauce over the chicken drumsticks.
  11. Switch on the broiler and broil the chicken for 2-5 minutes until browned.
  12. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, consider marinating the drumsticks in the sauce for several hours before baking.
