Banana Bread with Chocolate Chips

A delightful and easy-to-make banana bread recipe enhanced with chocolate chips, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • Optional: ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • Optional: ¼ cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mash the bananas until smooth with a few lumps in a large bowl.
  3. Stir in melted butter until well combined, then add brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and optional walnuts.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Optionally, sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
  8. Bake for 50–60 minutes. Check doneness with a toothpick; it should come out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
