Bay Leaf Tea

A warm and soothing bay leaf tea, packed with health benefits and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups water
  • 6 bay leaves (fresh or dry)
  • Fresh mint leaves, to taste (optional)
  • Fresh peeled ginger, to taste (optional)
  • Honey, optional
  • Milk, optional

Instructions

  1. Bring the water to a rolling boil in a large pot.
  2. Wash the bay leaves (and mint leaves if using). Peel the ginger while waiting.
  3. Add the bay leaves to the boiling water and boil for 3 minutes.
  4. Remove the pot from heat and add any additional ingredients like mint and ginger. Stir well.
  5. Cover the pot and steep for about 5 minutes.
  6. Remove the whole herbs and serve the tea immediately with honey and milk if desired.

Notes

Bay leaf tea is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for 2-3 days. It is not recommended to freeze the tea.
