Blackberry Lavender Iced Sun Tea

A refreshing iced tea that combines the sweet and tart flavor of blackberries with the delicate floral notes of lavender.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 black-tea bags
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries, lightly crushed
  • 1 Tbsp dried lavender buds
  • 4 cups water
  • Honey to taste
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Wash the blackberries and gently crush them with a fork to release their juicy flavor.
  2. Combine the ingredients: In a large jar, place the crushed blackberries, dried lavender buds, and black-tea bags. Pour in the 4 cups of water.
  3. Seal and place in the sun: Secure the lid on the jar tightly and place it in direct sunlight.
  4. Steep for 3 hours: Allow the jar to sit in the sun to slowly brew the tea and infuse the flavors.
  5. Strain the tea: Use a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to strain the tea into a pitcher, removing the black-tea bags, lavender, and blackberries.
  6. Sweeten and chill: Add honey to sweeten if desired, mix well, and chill in the refrigerator.
  7. Serve over ice: Serve the chilled tea over ice and garnish with fresh blackberries or a sprig of lavender if desired.
