Candy Cane Chai

A delightful drink combining the warm flavors of chai tea with refreshing peppermint. Perfect for winter gatherings and enjoyable any time of the year.

  • 1 chai tea bag (or 1 tsp loose chai tea)
  • 1/3 cup hot water
  • 2/3 cup milk (or dairy-free alternative)
  • 1/2 tsp peppermint syrup (or splash of peppermint extract)
  • Whipped cream for topping (optional)
  • Crushed candy cane for garnish
  • Whole candy cane for stirring

Instructions

  1. Brew the chai: Pour 1/3 cup of hot water over the tea bag or loose tea and steep for 3-5 minutes. Remove the tea bag or strain.
  2. Heat the milk: In a small pot, heat 2/3 cup of milk over medium heat, stirring gently to avoid burning. Remove just before it boils.
  3. Froth the milk: Use a whisk or milk frother to froth the heated milk.
  4. Add peppermint: Stir in 1/2 tsp of peppermint syrup or a splash of peppermint extract.
  5. Combine and layer: Pour frothed milk over the brewed chai, allowing the foam to rise.
  6. Top it off: Add a dollop of whipped cream if desired.
  7. Garnish: Sprinkle with crushed candy cane and add a whole candy cane as a stirrer.
  8. Enjoy: Sip and savor the cozy blend of chai and peppermint.

Notes

Customize the drink with more peppermint flavor or thicker foam. Serve hot and enjoy with holiday treats.
