Candy Cane Forest Cocoa

A delightful winter drink that warms your heart with rich chocolate flavor and a hint of peppermint, perfect for festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Whipped cream (for garnish)
  • Crushed candy canes (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine milk and heavy cream over medium heat. Heat until steaming but not boiling, stirring occasionally.
  2. Stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, cocoa powder, and sugar (if using). Whisk until the chocolate melts and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the peppermint extract.
  4. Pour the cocoa into mugs, layering it by swirling a small amount of white chocolate chips or drizzling melted white chocolate on the inner sides of the mug for a visual effect.
  5. Top with a generous swirl of whipped cream and sprinkle with crushed candy canes. Place a whole candy cane in each mug as a stir stick.
  6. Optional: Add a drizzle of chocolate syrup over the whipped cream for extra indulgence.

Notes
