Caramel Cream Bliss

A delightful dessert combining rich flavors with a smooth, creamy texture, perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth.

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (at room temperature)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup cream
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 packet vanilla extract
  • Biscuit crumbs / nuts / grated chocolate (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Caramel: Add the granulated sugar and water into a pan, heat over medium without stirring until it turns dark amber. Carefully add heavy cream and stir in butter until smooth; set aside to cool.
  2. Cook the Cream: In another saucepan, combine milk, cream, remaining sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolks. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Off heat, add vanilla extract.
  3. Assemble: Pour caramel into the bottom of serving bowls, then add the creamy mixture on top, finishing with more caramel drizzle.
  4. Chill: Place the bowls in the refrigerator and chill for at least 2 hours before serving. Garnish with optional toppings if desired.

Notes

For a healthier version, consider using coconut milk and a sugar substitute. This dessert is great for meal prep and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
