Caramelized Cranberry Relish

A delightful dish balancing tart and sweet flavors, perfect for holiday meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 large orange
  • A small piece of ginger, finely shredded into matchsticks
  • 100g golden caster sugar
  • 500g fresh or frozen cranberries

Instructions

  1. Zest the orange using a zester or peeler, then finely shred the zest with a knife and set aside with the ginger.
  2. Halve the orange and juice it.
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, orange juice, ginger, orange zest, and sugar.
  4. Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir.
  5. Cook until the cranberries begin to pop and the sauce thickens, about 10 to 15 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and allow to cool before serving.
