Carrot Cake Syrup for Coffee

A delightful carrot cake syrup that transforms your coffee into a special treat with flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ cups water
  • 3 medium carrots, peeled and chopped
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon maple extract

Instructions

  1. Place the water in a medium saucepan.
  2. Add the chopped carrots, brown sugar, pecans, and granulated sugar to the saucepan.
  3. Add the cinnamon sticks and nutmeg to the mix.
  4. Stir the ingredients over medium heat until well combined.
  5. Bring to a gentle simmer and let it simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool for 15 minutes.
  7. Strain the mixture using a fine mesh sieve to separate the syrup from the solids.
  8. Stir in the vanilla extract and maple extract into the syrup.
  9. Transfer the syrup to a mason jar or syrup bottle.

Notes

Store syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Avoid freezing to maintain texture and flavor.
