Chicken and Dumpling Casserole

A hearty and comforting casserole made with tender chicken, fluffy dumplings, and a creamy sauce, perfect for families and gatherings.

  • Pulled chicken from a rotisserie chicken (no skin)
  • 1 stick of butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Spread the pulled chicken evenly in a 9×13 baking dish.
  3. Pour the melted butter over the chicken, making sure to cover it evenly.
  4. Season the chicken with salt and pepper to your taste.
  5. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and milk until smooth.
  6. Slowly pour the flour and milk mixture evenly over the chicken. Do not stir.
  7. In the same bowl, whisk together the chicken broth and the chicken soup.
  8. Slowly pour this mixture into the baking pan over the chicken and flour mixture. Do not stir.
  9. Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 45 minutes.
  10. After baking, let the casserole sit for at least 5 minutes before serving.
