Keto Hot Chocolate

A rich and creamy low-carb hot chocolate that satisfies cravings without the sugar crash.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or macadamia milk
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream (or coconut cream for dairy-free)
  • 1 to 1 and 1/2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons powdered sweetener (allulose, monk fruit blend, or erythritol)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon sugar-free chocolate chips, scoop of collagen, or teaspoon of MCT oil
  • Optional topping: sugar-free whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa

Instructions

  1. Add almond milk and heavy cream to a small saucepan over medium heat. Warm until steaming, not boiling.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk cocoa powder, powdered sweetener, and a pinch of salt to break up any lumps.
  3. Sprinkle the cocoa blend into the warm milk while whisking constantly for 2 to 3 minutes until glossy and smooth.
  4. Stir in vanilla and adjust sweetness. Add chocolate chips if desired and whisk until melted.
  5. Pour into a mug and top with whipped cream if desired.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, use coconut cream instead of heavy cream. Adjust sweetness to taste.
