Creamy Italian Hot Chocolate

A rich and creamy Italian hot chocolate that’s perfect for cold days and delightful indulgence.

  • 1 cup whole milk, divided
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 3 oz milk chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Mix the Cornstarch and Milk: In a small bowl, add 2 tablespoons of the whole milk and sprinkle in the cornstarch. Stir until smooth and set aside.
  2. Heat the Remaining Ingredients: Pour the rest of the milk into a small saucepan. Add the powdered sugar, milk chocolate, and cocoa powder.
  3. Whisk Over Low Heat: Heat the saucepan over low heat, whisking continuously until the chocolate melts and the mixture is well combined.
  4. Add the Cornstarch Mixture: Slowly pour in the cornstarch mixture while whisking thoroughly to thicken the hot chocolate.
  5. Thicken the Mix: Keep on low heat for 1-2 minutes, stirring regularly until steaming.
  6. Serve Hot: Remove from heat and pour into two small cups. Enjoy your creamy hot chocolate!

Notes
