Berry Trifle with Whipped Cream

A quick and easy dessert featuring layers of fresh berries, cake, and whipped cream that is both impressive and crowd-pleasing.

  • 2 cups mixed fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups cake (pound cake, ladyfingers, or any leftover cake), chopped

Instructions

  1. Wash the berries and pat them dry.
  2. Chop the cake into bite-sized chunks.
  3. In a bowl, whip the heavy cream with sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  4. Layer the trifle starting with cake bits, then berries, followed by whipped cream. Repeat until the bowl is full.
  5. Finish with a layer of berries on top for a pretty presentation.
  6. Store in the fridge until ready to serve.

Notes

Trifle tastes best the next day when flavors meld. Can be made a day in advance and stored in the fridge.
