Easy Apple Crumble

A simple and comforting recipe for apple crumble, perfect for weeknight desserts.

  • 4 cups fresh apples (preferably Granny Smith)
  • 1 cup white sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Core and slice the apples and layer them in a deep baking dish, sprinkling with sugar and cinnamon.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Rub cold butter into the flour mixture until big, lumpy crumbs form.
  5. Scatter the crumbly topping over the apples without patting it down.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the top is golden and the apples are bubbling.
  7. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Feel free to substitute apples with pears or other fruits. Add oats or nuts for extra texture.
