Double-Chocolate Holiday Cookie Dough Brownie Gems

A festive dessert combining rich, fudgy brownies with sweet, chewy cookie dough, perfect for holiday gatherings.

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heat-treated all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter and granulated sugar. Stir in eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Add cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder to the mixture. Stir until just combined. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat together softened butter and brown sugar until creamy. Add milk and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  5. Gradually incorporate heat-treated flour into the cookie dough mixture until combined.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough on top of the brownie batter.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the brownie layer.
  8. Allow to cool before slicing into squares.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
