Dried Cranberry Sauce

A delicious and versatile dried cranberry sauce perfect for enhancing various meals with its sweet and tart flavor.

  • 1.5 Cups Dried Cranberries
  • 1/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Orange Juice
  • 3/4 Cup Cranberry Juice
  • 1 Tablespoon Corn Flour / Cornstarch
  • 1/4 Cup Water
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 Tablespoon Orange Zest
  • A Pinch of Salt

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Start by combining all the ingredients, except for the corn flour/cornstarch and water, in a medium saucepan.
  2. Cook the Mixture: Place the saucepan on medium heat and cook the mixture for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Mix Corn Flour: While the mixture is cooking, mix the corn flour with 1/4 cup of water in a small bowl to create a slurry.
  4. Add Slurry to Saucy Mixture: Once the cranberries have plumped up, add the corn flour slurry to the saucepan and mix well, cooking for another minute.
  5. Finish It Up: Remove from heat and discard the cinnamon stick. Optionally, mash or blend for a smoother consistency.

Notes

Enjoy with turkey, chicken, or as a spread on toast. Can be frozen for up to three months.
