¼ cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
1 tablespoon brown sugar (plus 2 teaspoons, divided)
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
1 teaspoon fresh garlic, minced
1 pound ground beef
½ small yellow onion, diced
1 tablespoon scallion, diced
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
4 large soft-boiled eggs (for serving)
Instructions
In a small bowl, whisk soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Set aside.
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess grease if necessary.
Stir in diced onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened.
Pour the sauce over the beef and onion mixture. Add the remaining 2 teaspoons brown sugar. Stir well and simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
Remove from heat. Garnish with scallions and sesame seeds. Serve hot with rice or your favorite sides. Add soft-boiled eggs for richness.
Notes
Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Adjust sweetness and add veggies to your liking.
