  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 2 passionfruits, halved

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 225°F (110°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a clean, dry bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  3. Gradually add the granulated sugar while continuing to beat until the mixture is glossy and smooth.
  4. Fold in cornstarch, vinegar, and vanilla extract gently.
  5. Pipe or spoon the meringue mixture onto the prepared baking sheet into a tree shape, creating layers if desired.
  6. Bake for 1.5 hours or until the meringue is crisp and dry. Turn off the oven and let it cool completely.
  7. Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  8. Carefully assemble the pavlova tree by layering the meringue pieces and topping with whipped cream, strawberries, and passionfruit. Serve and enjoy your elegant dessert!
