Flower Jam Thumbprint Cookies

Delicious and healthy thumbprint cookies filled with fruit jam. Perfect for a sweet snack with tea or coffee.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup fruit jam (any flavor)
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Gradually mix in the flour and salt until just combined.
  5. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Use your thumb to create an indentation in the center of each ball.
  7. Fill each indentation with a teaspoon of jam.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let them cool before dusting with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

For a lower calorie option, use less sugar or whole wheat flour. These cookies freeze well for meal prep.
