French Hot Chocolate

A rich and creamy French Hot Chocolate made with real dark chocolate for a luxurious experience.

  • 1 cup whole milk (or dairy-free alternative)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional)
  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher), finely chopped
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)
  • Whipped cream or chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat the milk and heavy cream over medium heat until steaming (but not boiling).
  2. Reduce the heat to low. Whisk in the chopped dark chocolate until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Add sugar if desired, and whisk until well combined.
  4. Simmer gently for 2-3 minutes to thicken the hot chocolate.
  5. Pour the hot chocolate into a small cup or mug.
  6. Top with whipped cream or chocolate shavings.
  7. Sip slowly and enjoy the velvety richness!
