Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Cut in butter until the mixture is crumbly.
  4. Stir in milk and vanilla to form a dough.
  5. Roll out dough to about 1 inch thick and cut heart shapes.
  6. Bake for about 15 minutes until golden.
  7. Serve warm with jam or whipped cream.

Notes

For a healthier version, swap some ingredients for whole wheat flour and reduce sugar. These scones freeze well for meal prep.
