Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb salmon, skin removed, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil, divided
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 3 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 1 tbsp butter (optional, for richness)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds, for garnish
  • 2 tbsp chopped chives, for garnish
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional, for extra freshness)

Instructions

  1. Pat dry the salmon cubes and season with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Drizzle with 1 tbsp olive oil and mix well.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tbsp olive oil and cook the salmon cubes for 4-5 minutes, flipping frequently until golden and crispy. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add garlic and ginger. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey. Let simmer for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened. Add cornstarch mixed with water if a thicker sauce is desired.
  5. Return the cooked salmon to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Stir in butter and lemon juice if using.
  6. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chives. Serve immediately over rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.

Notes

Pat the salmon dry before cooking for a crispy texture. Marinate for extra flavor. Try using maple syrup instead of honey for a twist! Cook in an air fryer at 390°F for 7-9 minutes for an easy alternative.
