A warm and cozy drink featuring rich dark chocolate and light apricot whipped cream, perfect for cold days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 750 ml (3 cups) milk
  • 400 ml (1 2/3 cups) 35 percent cream
  • 1 ml (1/4 teaspoon) ground cardamom
  • 0.5 ml (1/8 teaspoon) ground cinnamon
  • 225 g (8 oz) dark chocolate, chopped
  • 75 ml (1/3 cup) apricot jam

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, pour milk and 250 ml of cream. Add ground cardamom and ground cinnamon. Heat over medium, stirring until gently boiled.
  2. Reduce heat to low, add chopped dark chocolate, and stir with a whisk until fully melted and smooth.
  3. In a mixing bowl, pour in remaining 150 ml of cream. Use an electric mixer to whip until soft peaks form; add apricot jam just before it’s fully whipped.
  4. Continue whipping until firm peaks form.
  5. Pour hot chocolate into cups and top with apricot whipped cream. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.

Notes

Pair with cookies or cake for a delightful treat. Store leftover hot chocolate in the fridge for 2-3 days. Whipped cream is best fresh.
