Hot Chocolate Bombs

Hot chocolate bombs are delightful treats filled with cocoa mix and marshmallows that melt into a delicious drink when hot milk is poured over them. Perfect for cold days and customizable for personal tastes!

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 tablespoons hot cocoa mix
  • 3/4 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate chips
  • Milk for serving (steamed)

Instructions

  1. Chop the chocolate chips finely.
  2. Melt 5 ounces of chopped chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, microwaving on defrost for 15 seconds at a time, stirring in between until almost melted.
  3. Stir the chocolate to fully melt it.
  4. Allow melted chocolate to cool down to 85 degrees F.
  5. Microwave the chocolate briefly again until it reaches 90 degrees F for molding.
  6. Coat the inside of candy molds with the melted chocolate.
  7. Clean the edges of the molds with a knife to remove excess chocolate.
  8. Chill the molds in the refrigerator for 3-5 minutes to set the chocolate.
  9. Once set, pop the chocolate shells out and fill one half with hot cocoa mix and mini marshmallows.
  10. Heat a plate in the microwave, press the empty half on it to melt the rim, then press together with the filled half to seal.
  11. Melt white chocolate in a piping bag and drizzle over the bombs for decoration.
  12. To serve, place a hot chocolate bomb in a mug and pour 8 ounces of steamed milk over it. Stir and enjoy!

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks. You can freeze them for longer storage and enjoy later.
