Hot Chocolate Bombs

Delightful and fun treats that melt in warm milk to create a delicious hot chocolate experience.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chocolate morsels or chopped chocolate
  • 1/2 cup hot chocolate mix
  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows
  • Decorations (e.g., sprinkles)

Instructions

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, place the chocolate morsels or chopped chocolate. Heat at 50 percent power for 30 seconds, stirring after each interval until mostly melted and smooth.
  2. Measure about 2 teaspoons of chocolate into each half-sphere mold, spreading up the sides.
  3. Freeze the mold for 5 to 10 minutes to set the chocolate.
  4. After setting, add 1 teaspoon of chocolate into each mold again and brush it up the sides. Freeze until solid.
  5. Fill half of the chocolate spheres with hot chocolate mix and mini marshmallows.
  6. Pop out the empty halves from the mold.
  7. Heat remaining chocolate in a piping bag and pipe along the edge of filled halves. Seal with empty halves.
  8. Roll edges in sprinkles while seams are still tacky.
  9. Let bombs fully set and cool. Optionally drizzle more chocolate on top and decorate.
  10. To serve, heat milk and pour over a hot chocolate bomb in a mug. Stir until dissolved.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. Can be frozen in airtight containers.
