Turkish Coffee

Discover the rich and flavorful experience of brewing traditional Turkish coffee, a perfect drink for gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces filtered water
  • 4 teaspoons very finely ground coffee
  • A pinch of freshly ground cardamom
  • 2 teaspoons sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Measure out 6 ounces of filtered water and pour it into the cezve.
  2. Place the cezve on medium heat and let the water come to a gentle boil.
  3. Remove the cezve from the heat and stir in the coffee, cardamom, and sugar if desired. Mix well.
  4. Put the cezve back on the heat and allow it to heat until it begins to bubble again.
  5. Turn off the heat just as it starts to rise to create a foamy layer.
  6. Let it rest for a moment to let the grounds settle at the bottom.
  7. Carefully pour the coffee into two small cups, grounds and all.
  8. Sip your Turkish coffee slowly and enjoy the rich flavor and texture.

Notes

Turkish coffee is best enjoyed fresh. Serve with a glass of water or a small sweet treat on the side.
