Italian Crescent Casserole

A comforting dish combining ground beef, pasta sauce, and melted cheese wrapped in a flaky crescent roll crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (cooked and drained)
  • 1 cup garlic tomato pasta sauce
  • 8 oz pkg Pillsbury® refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Italian cheese blend
  • 1/4 tsp dried basil leaves

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, mix the cooked ground beef and pasta sauce. Heat over medium heat until it is warm.
  2. Separate the crescent dough into 8 triangles.
  3. Place the dough in an ungreased 9-inch glass pie plate in a spoke pattern, overlapping the tips by about 3 inches.
  4. Press the dough into the side and bottom of the pan to form a crust and cover the pan.
  5. Sprinkle 1 cup of the shredded Italian cheese over the dough in the pan.
  6. Spoon the meat mixture evenly over the cheese.
  7. Bring the tips of the dough over the filling to meet in the center without overlapping.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup cheese over the dish, followed by the dried basil.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before slicing into wedges for serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
