Loaded Tater Tot Nachos

A delicious twist on traditional nachos using crispy tater tots topped with creamy cheese, fresh vegetables, and savory spices.

  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese blend)
  • 1 cup cooked and shredded chicken (optional)
  • 1 cup black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1 avocado, diced or sliced
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt for a lighter option)
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges (for serving)
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • Hot sauce or salsa (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Spread the frozen tater tots in a single layer on a large baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until they are golden and crispy.
  4. Sprinkle the chili powder, garlic powder, paprika, and cumin over the tots.
  5. Transfer the tots to a large oven-safe dish or skillet.
  6. Top with shredded cheese.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for 5–7 minutes more, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and layer with black beans, diced tomatoes, red onion, jalapeños, and olives.
  9. Top with avocado, sour cream, and cilantro.
  10. Serve with lime wedges and hot sauce or salsa as desired.

Notes

Customize your nachos by adding other toppings like corn, pico de gallo, or additional veggies. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2–3 days.
