Maple Pumpkin Bourbon Smash

A delightful autumn cocktail combining pumpkin, maple syrup, and bourbon for a warm, cozy drink.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar or brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup pumpkin purée
  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • Ice
  • 3 tablespoons pumpkin pie syrup
  • 2 ounces bourbon
  • Club soda to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small pot, combine the coconut sugar or brown sugar, maple syrup, and water.
  2. Stir well and let the mixture simmer over low heat for about 5 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.
  3. Remove the pot from heat and let it cool to room temperature.
  4. In a cocktail shaker, combine a handful of ice, the cooled maple pumpkin syrup, and 2 ounces of bourbon.
  5. Shake well until mixed and cold.
  6. Pour the mixture into a glass, and top it off with club soda to taste.
  7. Serve garnished with a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice or a cinnamon stick.

Notes

This drink is best enjoyed fresh. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to two days.
