Masala Chai Concentrate

A spiced tea concentrate combining black tea with fragrant spices and creamy milk, perfect for enjoying at any time.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons loose black tea or 4 tea bags
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon ground cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup milk (or non-dairy alternative)
  • Sugar or sweetener to taste

Instructions

  1. In a pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Add the black tea, ground ginger, cardamom, and cinnamon. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
  3. Strain the mixture to remove the solids using a fine mesh strainer.
  4. Add milk to the strained tea and heat until warm but not boiling.
  5. Sweeten to taste with sugar or your preferred sweetener, then let it cool.
  6. Store in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Notes

Mix with hot water or milk using a 1:1 ratio for serving. Optional topping with cinnamon or nutmeg.
