Nungu Water

A refreshing drink made with tender ice apples, milk, and sugar, perfect for cooling down on a hot day.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 Tender Ice Apples
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon Cardamom Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chopped Pistachios (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil the milk in a pot with sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
  2. Wash the tender ice apples under running water and carefully remove their outer skin with a knife.
  3. Chop one of the peeled ice apples into small pieces and set aside.
  4. Blend the second ice apple into a smooth paste. Add this paste to the cooled milk and mix well.
  5. Add the chopped ice apple pieces and cardamom powder to the milk mixture. Stir gently to combine.
  6. Taste the mixture and add more sugar if desired, mixing well after.
  7. Pour the mixture into a container and refrigerate to chill.
  8. Once chilled, serve the Nungu Water in glasses and garnish with chopped pistachios if desired.

Notes

Serve cold, garnished with mint leaves or ice cubes for a refreshing touch.
