Orange Earl Grey Biscotti

Crunchy and aromatic, these Orange Earl Grey Biscotti are a delightful treat that pairs perfectly with tea or coffee and fits into your healthy eating goals.

  • 6 tbsp softened butter
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 orange zest and juice
  • 2 tsp dried Earl Grey tea

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF (175ºC) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, sugar, baking powder, vanilla extract, orange zest, orange juice, and salt. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, ensuring to mix well after each addition.
  4. Carefully sift in the all-purpose flour and dried Earl Grey tea. Mix until a thick, sticky dough forms.
  5. Divide the dough in half and place each piece on the prepared baking sheet. Shape each piece into a rectangle about 1/2 to 1 inch thick.
  6. Bake for 22 minutes, until the tops of each log are golden and dry. Once done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for 20 minutes.
  7. After cooling, use a serrated knife to slice each log into 1/2-inch wide cookies. Stand each cookie on its side on the baking sheet.
  8. Bake again for 20 to 22 minutes, until the cookies are completely dried out and crispy.
  9. Remove from the oven and let them cool completely. Dip and decorate as desired.

Notes

Store the biscotti in an airtight container at room temperature for several weeks. For longer storage, consider freezing them.
