A delightful tart blending sweet pears and savory caramelized onions on a crunchy puff pastry base, topped with rich blue cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry (thawed)
  • All-purpose flour (for dusting)
  • 1 large egg, beaten with 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)
  • 2 small pears (thinly sliced)
  • ½ cup caramelized onions
  • ½ cup walnut halves and pieces
  • ¼ cup Gorgonzola or other blue cheese
  • 3 tbsp honey (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F.
  2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking liner.
  3. Roll out the thawed puff pastry to a rectangle about 10×15 inches.
  4. Fold in the edges of the pastry about ½ inch to create a border.
  5. Pierce the inner part of the puff pastry with a fork all over.
  6. Brush the beaten egg over the inner portion and outside edge of the pastry.
  7. Layer the sliced pears evenly on the pastry. Spread the caramelized onions over the pears, then sprinkle the walnuts and blue cheese on top.

  9. Drizzle honey over the tart while it is still warm.
  10. Allow the tart to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
