Peppermint Bark Hot Chocolate

A rich and creamy hot chocolate infused with peppermint, perfect for the winter season and festive gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups whole milk
  • 1 (14-oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 cups bittersweet or semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup crème de menthe or vodka (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Sweetened whipped cream, for topping
  • Crushed candy canes, for topping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the slow cooker by getting your 7-quart slow cooker ready.
  2. Combine ingredients by pouring in the whole milk and sweetened condensed milk. Then add the chocolate chips and optional alcohol if using.
  3. Add flavor by mixing in the vanilla extract, peppermint extract, and salt.
  4. Slow cook on High for about 2 hours, stirring halfway through.
  5. After 2 hours, switch the slow cooker to keep warm.
  6. Serve warm, adding whipped cream and crushed candy canes as toppings.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving. Not recommended for freezing.
