Peppermint Mocha Hot Chocolate

A delightful drink that combines rich chocolate with refreshing peppermint, perfect for cold days.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces whole milk
  • 6 ounces 2% milk
  • 23 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons cacao powder or cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon instant espresso or instant coffee powder
  • Tiny pinch of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Optional Toppings: Whipped cream, mini marshmallows, chocolate syrup, sprinkles, McCormick Candy Cane Finishing Sugar

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the whole milk, 2% milk, sweetened condensed milk, cacao powder, instant espresso, and salt.
  2. Bring to medium-high heat and whisk constantly until smooth and fully combined. Keep whisking until the mixture is just starting to steam, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla and peppermint extracts.
  4. Pour the hot chocolate into a heatproof mug.
  5. Top with your desired toppings, such as whipped cream, mini marshmallows, or chocolate syrup.

Notes

This drink is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat on low heat in a saucepan before serving.
