Zesty, refreshing, and the cure for every overheated summer afternoon—this iced tea with lemon and mint is the ultimate sip-worthy cooldown.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 46 cups water (hot, but not boiling)
  • 4 black or green tea bags
  • 12 tablespoons sweetener (sugar, honey, or agave, optional)
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • Fresh mint sprigs
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Heat water until just below boiling (not bubbling).
  2. Steep tea bags in hot water for 5 minutes, then remove.
  3. Add sweetener while tea is still warm and stir until dissolved.
  4. Let tea cool slightly, then add lemon slices and fresh mint sprigs.
  5. Refrigerate the tea in a covered pitcher for up to 3 days.
  6. To serve, pour over a glass filled with ice.
  7. Garnish with additional lemon slices, mint, or berries if desired.
  8. Optional: Freeze some tea in ice cube trays to prevent dilution.

Notes

Use fresh lemon and mint for best flavor. Avoid boiling water to prevent bitterness. Add sweetener while tea is warm to help it dissolve. Don’t over-steep—5 minutes is perfect.
