Rose Cardamom Moon Milk

A warm, fragrant drink made with milk, dried rose petals, and crushed green cardamom, perfect for bedtime or a light treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole milk (or coconut milk)
  • 1 teaspoon dried rose petals
  • 2 green cardamom pods, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon rose water
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • Pinch of pink Himalayan salt
  • Optional: beetroot powder for color

Instructions

  1. Measure one cup of milk and pour it into a small saucepan.
  2. Crush the green cardamom pods and add them to the milk.
  3. Add one teaspoon of dried rose petals to the milk.
  4. Heat the milk over low heat and let it warm to a simmer, stirring often. Do not boil.
  5. Turn the heat to very low and let the milk and spices simmer for 10 minutes to infuse the flavors.
  6. Remove the pan from the heat and strain the mixture into a small bowl or cup using a fine mesh strainer.
  7. Add one teaspoon of rose water, one tablespoon of maple syrup, and a tiny pinch of pink Himalayan salt. Whisk until frothy.
  8. If desired, add beetroot powder for color and whisk well.
  9. Pour the moon milk into a cup and top with a few dried rose petals. Serve warm.

Notes

Store the infused milk in the fridge for up to 3–4 days. Reheat as needed.
