Spicy Blackberry Chutney

A flavorful condiment combining sweet blackberries with spices and tangy vinegar, perfect for enhancing various dishes.

Ingredients

  • 500g blackberries
  • 140g caster sugar
  • 140g red onions, sliced
  • 3 tbsp chopped fresh root ginger
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 150ml white wine vinegar

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients, except the vinegar, in a large saucepan.
  2. Turn the heat to medium and stir gently until blackberries start to burst.
  3. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  4. Add the white wine vinegar to the saucepan.
  5. Simmer uncovered for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove from heat, let cool, and transfer to a sterilized jar.

Notes

Store in a cool, dark place for several months. Once opened, refrigerate for up to two weeks.
