A deliciously spicy shrimp dish that embodies the culinary heritage of New Orleans, perfect for busy weeknights or special gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb White Tiger Shrimp
  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1/4 cup Sweet Chili Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tsp Liquid Smoke
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 12 tbsp Sriracha or Tabasco
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 tbsp Parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prep the shrimp by peeling and deveining, rinse under cold water and pat dry.
  2. Create the marinade: In a large oven-safe skillet, combine butter, olive oil, sweet chili sauce, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, smoked paprika, dried oregano, liquid smoke, garlic, sriracha, and lemon juice. Let simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Allow the marinade to cool slightly before adding the shrimp.
  4. Toss the shrimp in the cooled marinade until evenly coated.
  5. Marinate the shrimp for at least 30 minutes, up to 2 hours for enhanced flavor.
  6. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Place the skillet in the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes until shrimp are pink and opaque.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and with crusty French bread on the side.

Notes

For a spicier kick, increase the amount of sriracha or add crushed red pepper flakes. Can also serve with pasta or on tacos for a different twist.
