Spruce Tip Tea

A refreshing and citrusy tea made from the young shoots of spruce trees, packed with vitamins and antioxidants.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup spruce tips, not packed
  • 2 cups water
  • Lemon (optional)
  • Honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse your spruce tips under cool water and remove any brown stems.
  2. Place the spruce tips in your tea pot or French press.
  3. Add 2 cups of boiling water over the spruce tips and give it a quick stir.
  4. Let the mixture steep for 15 minutes to allow the flavors to develop.
  5. Strain the tea into a mug or cup and enjoy.
  6. If you like, add a squeeze of lemon and a touch of honey for extra flavor.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
