Sugar Plum White Hot Chocolate with Cotton Candy Whipped Cream

A delightful and sweet warm drink combining rich white chocolate with plum notes and topped with fluffy cotton candy whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup Ghirardelli white chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 drops of pink food coloring
  • 2 cups cold heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cotton candy extract
  • 2 drops of pink food coloring
  • 1 pouch of purple sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Pour 4 cups of whole milk into a small saucepan.
  2. Heat the milk over low to medium-low heat; do not let it boil.
  3. Add 1 cup of Ghirardelli white chocolate chips to the warm milk and stir slowly until melted and smooth.
  4. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  5. Add 2 drops of pink food coloring and stir until evenly mixed.
  6. Keep the hot chocolate warm on low heat until serving.
  7. In a mixing bowl, pour 2 cups of cold heavy whipping cream and add 1/2 cup powdered sugar.
  8. Whip the cream until soft peaks form, then add 1 teaspoon of cotton candy extract and 2 drops of pink food coloring.
  9. Continue whipping to medium to stiff peaks, being careful not to over whip.
  10. Gently fold the whipped cream and spoon or pipe it onto each cup of hot chocolate.
  11. Sprinkle with purple sprinkles before serving.

Notes

Serve hot and enjoy the sweet swirl of whipped cream melting into the drink.
