Air Fryer Fried Chicken

Crispy, golden air fryer fried chicken made with a blend of spices and a secret ingredient – baking powder – for perfect crunch every time. Easy, fast, and oil-free!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken drumsticks
  • 1½ tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Pat drumsticks completely dry with paper towels.
  2. In a large bowl, toss drumsticks with oil, then coat thoroughly with spices and baking powder.
  3. Arrange in air fryer basket in single layer. Air fry at 375°F for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  4. Chicken is done when internal temperature reaches 165°F and skin is golden and crispy.

Notes

Use baking powder, not baking soda. Don’t overcrowd the basket – cook in batches if needed. For best results, let the chicken rest 5 minutes after air frying to lock in juices.
