Toasted Vanilla Bean Syrup

A rich, aromatic syrup made with toasted vanilla bean, perfect for enhancing coffee, desserts, or breakfast treats.

  • 1 whole vanilla bean
  • 1 ¼ cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Cut the vanilla bean lengthwise to expose the seeds.
  2. Chop the vanilla bean into 1-inch pieces.
  3. Add the chopped vanilla bean pieces to a medium saucepan.
  4. Place the saucepan over medium-low heat and stir constantly for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Carefully pour in the 1 ¼ cups of water into the saucepan.
  6. Add the 1 cup of granulated sugar to the saucepan and stir to combine.
  7. Increase the heat to medium and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  8. Let it cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  9. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the syrup cool for 15 minutes.
  10. Strain the syrup through a strainer or fine mesh sieve.
  11. Transfer the syrup to a mason jar or syrup bottle for storage.

Notes

Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. You can freeze it in ice cube trays for longer storage.
