Tom and Jerry Batter and Drink

A delightful holiday treat that combines creamy batter and spices, perfect for cozy gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 12 large eggs, separated
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 lb butter, room temperature
  • 3 lbs confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 tsp ground allspice
  • 1 heaping tablespoon Tom and Jerry batter
  • 1 cup hot drink of choice (milk, cocoa, eggnog, or water)

Instructions

  1. Separate the egg whites from the yolks, place egg whites in a bowl, add salt, and beat until stiff peaks form.
  2. In another bowl, beat the egg yolks until creamy and smooth.
  3. Cream the room temperature butter and confectioners’ sugar until light and fluffy, then add the beaten egg yolks, vanilla extract, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice; mix until well blended.
  4. Fold the stiff beaten egg whites into the batter gently.
  5. Store the batter in a covered container in the refrigerator or freeze for later use.
  6. To serve, scoop 1 heaping tablespoon of the batter into a mug and mix with 1 cup of hot drink, stirring until dissolved.
  7. Optional: Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of nutmeg or a cinnamon stick.
