The World’s Best Banana Bread

A moist and sweet banana bread recipe that is easy to make and flavorful, perfect for breakfast or snacks.

  • 3 to 4 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Add melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix until smooth and slightly lighter in color.
  4. Incorporate eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, and stir in vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  6. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients into the banana mixture until just combined.
  7. If using, fold in chopped nuts gently.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and tap gently to remove air bubbles.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 55 to 65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Notes

Banana bread can be served warm or at room temperature. Pair with butter or cream cheese for added flavor.
