Spaghetti Bolognese

A classic Italian dish made with savory beef mince, tomatoes, and herbs served over pasta.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) beef mince
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • ½ cup red wine (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Spaghetti, to serve
  • Parmesan cheese, for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté onions and garlic until soft.
  2. Add beef mince and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, and wine (if using).
  4. Simmer for 20-30 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Serve over cooked spaghetti and top with Parmesan cheese.

Notes

For a richer flavor, add chopped vegetables like carrots and celery. Great for meal prep and freezes well.
