Wild Violet Coconut Latte

A delightful drink combining coconut milk and wild violets for a unique, floral flavor and stunning color.

  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1/4 cup wild violet tea (steeped from foraged pesticide-free violets)
  • 1 tsp butterfly pea flower powder (for color)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Edible wild violet blossoms for garnish

Instructions

  1. Warm 1 cup of coconut milk in a small saucepan over low heat, being careful not to boil.
  2. Prepare the wild violet tea by steeping 1/4 cup of freshly foraged wild violets in hot water for about 5 minutes. Strain the liquid and discard the flowers.
  3. Add the steeped wild violet tea to the warmed coconut milk and stir well.
  4. Stir in 1 teaspoon of butterfly pea flower powder for color.
  5. Add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1 tablespoon of maple syrup, and a pinch of sea salt. Mix until well combined.
  6. Use a whisk or frother to froth the mixture until light and airy.
  7. Pour the latte into a mug and garnish with edible wild violet blossoms.

Notes

Can be served warm or chilled. Pairs well with light, fruity snacks or pastries.
