Homemade Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato captures fall flavors in a delightful layered coffee beverage, perfect for any time of the year.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium apple, chopped
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 dash of nutmeg
  • 2 shots espresso (or strong brewed coffee)
  • 3/4 cup oatmilk
  • Ice
  • Cinnamon or brown sugar for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, add chopped apple, water, brown sugar, cinnamon stick, and nutmeg. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  2. Mash the apples slightly to intensify the flavor, then strain out the fruit and spices to create the syrup.
  3. Meanwhile, brew two shots of espresso (or strong coffee).
  4. Fill a tall glass with ice and pour in about 3 tablespoons of the apple syrup.
  5. Add the oatmilk and slowly pour the espresso on top to create layers.
  6. Garnish with a pinch of cinnamon or brown sugar if desired.

Notes

The homemade syrup can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for 4-5 days. Customize with different milks or by adding caramel for extra sweetness.
