Activated Charcoal Lemonade

A refreshing and healthy lemonade featuring activated charcoal, perfect for summer hydration.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon activated charcoal powder (food-grade only)
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 45 fresh lemons)
  • 1/4 cup raw honey or maple syrup
  • 34 cups filtered water (cold)
  • Ice cubes
  • 2 tablespoons coconut water (optional)
  • Fresh lemon wheels for garnish
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. IMPORTANT: Use only food-grade activated charcoal powder.
  2. Mix activated charcoal powder with 2 tablespoons filtered water to create a smooth paste.
  3. Squeeze fresh lemon juice from your lemons (strain out seeds) into a large pitcher.
  4. Add honey or maple syrup to the lemon juice and stir until honey dissolves.
  5. Add the charcoal mixture to the pitcher and stir thoroughly for 1-2 minutes until completely smooth.
  6. Pour in remaining cold filtered water (about 3-4 cups) and stir well.
  7. If using coconut water, add now and stir gently.
  8. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  9. Fill glasses with ice cubes.
  10. Stir lemonade one more time before pouring (charcoal can settle) and pour into glasses. Garnish with lemon wheels and mint. Serve immediately.

Notes

Best served fresh or can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
